Kate Shepard Elementary School Library

Hooray for Library Day!

We are very proud of our library media center! Our collection includes more than 7,000 books and other materials that support Kate Shepard's mission of helping our students become lifelong learners.

All students visit the library weekly with their class and are able to check out books. The collection is automated, meaning students can search for materials  on the computer using Athena software.

 Kate Shepard uses the Accelerated Reader (AR) Learning Information System. Students read books on their reading level, then take a multiple choice reading comprehension test on the computer. In keeping with Kate Shepard School's high standards, students must score at least 80% on the test to receive credit for the test. Our library collection includes many AR books.
